Launching Our Podcast!
The Data Literacy Show

We’re so excited to announce that we launched a podcast! It’s called The Data Literacy Show — the podcast that helps organizations build, measure, and level up their data and AI literacy. It’s hosted by Ben Jones, co-founder and CEO of Data Literacy, and Alli Torban (me!), Senior Data Literacy Advocate, and we want to share everything we’ve learned from years of training thousands of people across industries in data and AI literacy.

What’s it about?

In each episode, we’ll share actionable tips, resources, and insights to help you strengthen your own data and AI literacy programs. You can expect topics ranging from measuring the effectiveness of your data and AI literacy programs to avoiding common pitfalls in data storytelling.

Who’s it for?

The show will be helpful for executives, managers, or those on the learning and development team who are trying to increase the level of data and AI literacy of their team or organization.

Why start a podcast?

I fell in love with podcasts back in 2015, shortly after my second daughter was born. By 2018, I decided to launch my own podcast, Data Viz Today, as a way to learn how to become a data visualization designer and share my journey along the way. Through that experience, I discovered just how powerful podcasts can be—not just for listeners but also for the hosts. They’re an incredible way to share ideas, learn new things, and connect, all while being on the go.

So, when Ben mentioned that he’d always dreamed of starting a podcast on his favorite topic—data literacy—I knew it was the perfect opportunity! I could take everything I’d learned from my own podcasting journey and combine it with his expertise to bring data literacy to the airwaves.

How to listen

Listen to our episodes on Spotify, Apple Podcasts, YouTube, or wherever you get your podcasts! Remember to subscribe to the show (it’s free!) so you’ll never miss an episode. I hope you’ll join us! 🙂

Welcome to the data literacy show the podcast that helps organizations build, measure and level up their data and AI literacy.

Hey everyone. I’m Ben Jones, co founder and CEO of data literacy, so you know, our team is on a mission to help you learn the language of data and AI through tailored trainings and assessments.

Alli Torban 0:23
And I’m Alli Torban, the senior data literacy Advocate here at data literacy now, a lot of people feel like data and AI just aren’t for them. Maybe they think it’s too technical or overwhelming, or they just don’t know where to start. And that mindset can make it really tough to build a data literacy program across entire teams or even a whole organization.

Ben Jones 0:46
Yeah, that is definitely true. And you know, here at data literacy, we’ve trained 1000s of people across many industries all over the world and different stages of their own journey into data maturity. So you know, we’ve learned a lot about what it takes to assess, to train, to measure progress in data literacy programs. And we want to share everything we’ve learned with you here on the show.

Alli Torban 1:10
Yes, and in this podcast, we’re going to share our knowledge, tips and resources that you can bring to your own data and AI literacy programs. So you can expect to hear practical strategies, real lessons learned, like, what’s the most efficient way to Assess your team’s data literacy knowledge, or what are the key attributes and behaviors we see in teams with a very mature data literacy program? Also, what are common mistakes teams make when trying to learn data storytelling?

Ben Jones 1:38
So we’ll answer all that and more. So if you’re an executive, a manager or part of a learning and development team, this data literacy show is for you. So you can expect a brand new episode every month, and you can subscribe to the show on Spotify, Apple podcasts, or wherever you happen to get your podcasts, so you never have to miss an episode.

Alli Torban 1:59
We can’t wait to have you join us on the data literacy show where data is for everyone.

Ben Jones 2:04
That’s right. Let’s level up your team’s data literacy and AI literacy together. See you in the first episode.
